Registration 2008-2009 Guidelines
This
information is designed to help you determine
when and how you should register each child for
the 2008-2009 school year. Please read through
the instructions completely before you fill out
your registration form. Feel free to call us at
847-9956 or email us at
mjenkins@sapc.com if you have any questions.
Packets of registration materials are available
in the Preschool office. You may also print the
Registration Form and
Child Information Form from these links. If
you live in Raleigh, please do not mail the
registration forms to the school; they must be
returned in person on the appropriate date.
However, if you live out of the area, you may
mail your forms. Please call us to let us know
and we'll keep an eye out for them.
Completed registration forms may be returned to
the designated box in the Preschool Office. Be
sure to check the bottom of this page for a
complete list of all classes offered and
specific dates for registration. Please specify
your 1st and 2nd choices on the registration
form. Remember to mark the outside of your
envelope too.
All
registration forms must be accompanied by a
registration fee which equals one month's
tuition.
Registrations will be drawn out of the box and
numbered in sequence. A list of registered
children will be posted outside the Director's
office.
Priority System: This system will be used in
case two or more children request the same day
and there is only one opening:
-
One point for active Saint Andrews church
membership.
-
One point for each year this child has been
enrolled in the program.
-
One point for each year a sibling has been
enrolled in the program, past and present.
-
If all priorities are considered and two or
more children still meet them equally, we
will draw names to determine who will get
the available space.
-
The right to maintain a reasonable boy/girl
ratio in each class will be considered along
with all other priorities.
Registration fees will be returned for children
who are not placed on a class list. If your
child is accepted, but you decide not to place
him/her at Saint Andrews, your registration fee
WILL NOT BE RETURNED.
NEW birth date cut-off!
Wake County Schools will be changing their birth
date cut-off for kindergarten registration
beginning in 2009. All children who are five
years old on or before August 31, 2009 will be
eligible for kindergarten.
In preparation for this change, Saint Andrews
Preschool will require students who are new to
our program in 2008-2009 to follow the new
cut-off guideline. Toddlers must be 15 months
old on or before August 31, 2008. Two through
five year olds must be that age on or before
August 31, 2008.
Currently-enrolled students may continue to use
the old cut-off date (October 16) or switch to
the new date (August 31) for the 2008-2009
school year. All students must conform to the
new birth date cut-off for the 2009-2010 school
year.
NOTE:
All children entering the three-year-old class
MUST BE POTTY TRAINED. Those classes are not
equipped for diaper changing.

Enrollment, Tuition, and Billing Policies
Registration takes place during a two-week
time period in February for the following
school year. Registration packets will be
available in January. Forms should be
dropped off in the office according to the
schedule in the registration packet. We use
a point system to determine placement.
A registration fee equal to one month's
tuition must accompany the registration form
in order for a child to be placed on a class
list. Registration fees are not applied to
tuition fees, but are a separate charge.
Registration fees will not be refunded
unless a family moves to another town prior
to August 1. The refund will be mailed to
the new address.
When a class is fully enrolled we will start
a waiting list for that class. Names of
applicants will be kept in the order in
which they are received.
Confirmation of a child’s acceptance,
information concerning tuition payments,
orientation day, and the Preschool calendar
will be sent in writing to parents.
Payments
Tuition fees may be paid monthly or in one
lump sum. Monthly payments will be due the
first day of each month beginning August 1
and ending April 1. Payments made after the
10th day of each month are considered past
due and a $25.00 late fee will be added.
The first tuition payment for the
five-year-old class is due May 1. This is
not refundable except for those moving to
another city by August 1 as outlined above.
The refund will be mailed to the new
address.
Please do not give payments to your child's
teachers. You may drop them off in the
Preschool office. In order to retain your
child's place, each month's tuition must be
paid even if the child may be absent all or
part of the month. We do not credit for days
missed.
If a check is returned to the preschool due
to insufficient funds, a $25.00 fee will be
charged to your account.
