The Bible
speaks emphatically
of service and its
importance in the
Christian life. Saint
Andrews Presbyterian
Women are involved in a
number of mission and
service projects
selected by the SAPW
Leadership Team and
others selected by the
National Presbyterian
Women's Organization.
Gifts Received
SAPW Operating Fund
Offering -
collected August -
October
SAPW is a self-funded
group. This offering is
collected either as an
initial donation at the
Fall Gathering or as
installments during the
first two Circle
meetings. Your
contribution is used to
fund the annual SAPW
operating budget, which
includes membership dues
sent to New Hope
Presbytery, our selected
mission projects, as
financial assistance to
SAPW events, for our
fellowship gatherings
and other miscellaneous
operating expenses. We
are pleased to report
that the majority of
your giving goes to
support mission
projects.
StepUp Ministry
Offering -
collected via Bunco
Night benefit in October
StepUp Ministry
is an empowerment
ministry that helps
people find jobs,
housing and educates
members in
self-sufficiency and
life skill success.
Presbyterian Women
Thank Offering -
collected in November
This offering originated
in the 1800’s to support
mission work for
National Presbyterian
Women Missions. National
PW divides the offering
and uses 40% to support
hospitals and community
health programs that
place priority in
helping the most needy
members of God's
community. The remaining
60% is used for new
creative ideas for
mission, undesignated in
advance.
Loaves & Fishes
Camperships -
collected early Spring
Loaves & Fishes
is a holistic,
faith-based after-school
program for children
at-risk in the
community. Contributions
toward these
scholarships allow SAPW
to send several children
to camp who may
otherwise not have such
an opportunity. Watch
the spring bulletins for
more information on how
to donate.
Presbyterian Women
Birthday Offering -
collected in May
This offering started in
1922 to support missions
as designated by the
Presbyterian Women’s
Creative Ministries
Offering Committee of
the PC-USA. Programs are
chosen on the basis of
meeting the needs of
hurting people and with
the faith that adequate
money to fund them will
be received.
Gifts Given
Carol
Brueggeman Memorial
Scholarship
Carol Brueggeman was a
charter member of Saint
Andrews Presbyterian
Church and was very
active with the youth in
the church. She felt the
youth were our future
church. This scholarship
is in appreciation for
all that she did for the
youth of Saint Andrews.
Every spring, Saint
Andrews Presbyterian
Women offers a $1,000
scholarship to one
college-bound high
school senior to be used
toward his or her
tuition. The scholarship
is funded from a Trust
that was initially set
up via a fundraiser by
SAPW in memory of Mrs.
Brueggeman.
Susiegray McConnell
Memorial Scholarship
Susiegray
McConnell loved God, her
family and Saint Andrews
Presbyterian Church. Her
faith, her love and her
spirit remained strong
as she faced cancer. She
was, and still is, a
source of inspiration to
those who knew her. To
honor the memory of his
late wife, Susiegray,
John P. McConnell
established a $3,000
scholarship to be
awarded to a college
bound high school
senior. This scholarship
is potentially renewable
for up to three
additional years, for a
total possible award of
$12,000 over four years.
Presbyterian Women,
New Hope Presbytery
Scholarship
This scholarship award
is sponsored by the
Presbyterian Women of
the New Hope Presbytery.
The scholarship is $650
and is awarded at the
beginning of each
semester for one year.

scholarship, as long as
the student is enrolled
in a baccalaureate,
master or doctoral
degree program or a
certification program in
a technical school. The
scholarship is based on
the applicant’s church
record, financial need,
leadership ability,
scholastic ability and
school achievement.
