Studies Offered
Women's Small Groups
Our Small Group
offerings consist of
monthly study groups
referred to as Circles
and a Weekly Study
group. Each group
provides an opportunity
in which we can find
inspiration to grow in
our knowledge, faith and
trust in our Lord, Jesus
Christ. We study God’s
Word through in-depth
Christian book studies,
share our thoughts, pray
together and support
each other in our
Christian walk. We
invite all women to join
a Circle and/or the
Weekly Bible Study to
share in this special
journey.

Circle Bible Study
Our
Circles meet
once a month and provide
a smaller group setting
for women to learn more
about Christ and living
our faith through
in-depth Christian book
studies, the sharing of
personal faith journeys
and unique life
experiences. Our hope is
to grow stronger
together in the
knowledge and love of
Christ as we build
relationships with
mutual support. Circles
also provide a place to
learn more about the
ministry and mission
involvement
opportunities of the
church. Please see the
Circle Information page
for meeting dates and
times.
Study book selection:
A Woman's Walk with God
by Elizabeth George
The book begins with a
description of the
Fruits of the Spirit,
"those gracious habits
which the Holy Spirit
produces in the
Christian:" love, joy,
peace, patience,
kindness, goodness,
faithfulness,
gentleness, and
self-control (Galatians
5:22-24). Although all
nine "Fruits of the
Spirit" stand together,
the book presents each
individually and shows
how they work together
to present a whole.
By contrast, the author
also examines the "Deeds
of the Flesh" (Galatians
5:19): immorality,
impurity, sensuality,
idolatry, sorcery,
enmities, strife,
jealousy, outbursts of
anger, disputes,
dissensions, factions,
envy, drunkenness,
carousing and similar
things.
The reader can
understand the "Fruits
of the Spirit" by
spending time in God's
word, spending time in
prayer, obeying God's
commandments, and
renewing our commitment
to Christ. The author
makes the analogy that
Fruits of the Spirit are
evidence of what is
within us. Trying harder
does not produce Fruits
of the Spirit; we need
to yield to God and
allow His Spirit to work
with us as we walk
through life. Examining
Jesus' life, walking
with the Spirit, and
cultivating the Fruit of
the Spirit are the
book's essence.

Weekly
Bible Study
Women of all ages, both
members and visitors,
are invited to join the
Weekly Bible Study to
experience spiritual
growth through in-depth
Christian book studies
while building
friendships with mutual
support and prayer in a
caring, small group
setting. Attendees
alternate providing
light refreshments and
leading the chapter
lessons on a volunteer
basis.
We meet Monday mornings
from 9:15 to 11:30 in
room 3. There is no
meeting on the 2nd
Monday of each month to
avoid conflict with the
Hannah Circle meeting.
On occasion, we may
combine a lesson with a
brunch or dinner at a
member’s home.

Fall Semester Study
The Power of a Praying
Woman Workbook and Video
Curriculum adapted from
the best-selling book by
Stormie Omartian

Prayer is powerful- but
do you know how to pray
for yourself? This is
the question author
Stormie Omartian
poses to women as she
begins her book. While
it often seems easier to
pray for your spouse,
children, friends and
extended family, God
wants to hear the
requests we have for our
own lives. He loves it
when we come to Him for
the things we need and
ask Him to help us
become the women we have
always longed to be.
The
author’s deep knowledge
of Scripture and candid
personal insights from
her own prayer life
provide guidance for
women who seek to trust
God with their deep
longings, not just
pressing needs; who wish
to cover every area of
their life with prayer;
and maintain a right
heart before God.
Throughout the study,
the participants will
learn how to draw closer
to God; know His plans
and purposes for their
lives; and receive
comfort, help and
strength every day.
Each
class segment concludes
with a prayer
participants can follow
or use as a model for
developing their own
prayers. Women will find
hope and purpose as they
give their lives over to
God and grow in depth
and meaning through
prayer. The Power of a
Praying Woman offers
many practical ways to
nurture our prayer lives
and grow closer to God
and we will find
encouragement and
meaning as we cultivate
our own personal and
deliberate prayer lives
week by week.

Spring Semester
Book selection to be
determined.
We will select a book
during the fall semester
as a group, allowing new
attendees the
opportunity to have
input based on their
interest.
