Would God Kick the World to Pieces?
“Martin Luther
once said, "If I were God, I’d kick the world to pieces.” But
Martin Luther
wasn’t God, God is God, and God has never
kicked the world to pieces. He keeps reentering the world, keeps
offering himself to the world…by grace, keeps somehow blessing the
world, making possible a kind of life which we all, in our deepest
being, hunger for.” The God of which Buechner speaks is the God we come to worship and praise in our Easter celebrations this weekend, the one who continues to reenter our lives with messages of hope and salvation through His Risen Son, Jesus Christ. Saint Andrews will join brother and sister congregations around the world with the joyful cry, “He is Risen, He is Risen, indeed!” during three different services on Sunday. Details of each are listed below. Choose your time and come to share in the best news humanity has ever received. Blessings, Mike Easter Sunday Schedule - March 23rd
Easter Sunrise

Easter Sunday 8:45am - Celebrate the Risen Christ with our Praise Team at our Reformed Contemporary Service.
9:45am - All are
invited to our continental breakfast. 11:00am - Special anthems by our Chancel Choir and Bells of Saint Andrews - joined at times by trumpets, organ, and piano - help us rejoice in the hope of the resurrection. As a quick reminder, please remember to arrive at church earlier than normal (10:30am to 10:45am) to avoid any parking lot tie-ups.

Sunday School offering on March 30, April 6, April 13 Most Christians have believed in evolution and have appreciated scientific discoveries for decades. With the heated debate about creationism and intelligent design, has something changed? Just what are these three ideas, and how can Christians decide which to follow? Please join us at the Sunday School hour, beginning the Sunday after Easter, to explore this vibrant topic. Please note, there will be a special speaker on April 13th. On that Sunday, we will be joined by Ronald Ash, a retired professor of biology from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas and husband of Aleta Ash, pastor of Milner Presbyterian Church in Raleigh.
Childcare Offered - Email Anne Hunter, youth director, to reserve a spot for your child on Saturday, March 29th from 9-12pm. The cost for the morning is $15 for the first child, $10 for each sibling. All monies raised will be applied to youth mission trips. Golf Tournament - What a great reason to ask for Friday afternoon, May 2nd off from work! Invite your friends and co-workers to join you at Brevofield Golf Links. $50 per person includes cart and greens fees. Please register in the narthex this Sunday or email Anne. This Tournament is a youth fund-raiser; all proceeds after expenses will go toward youth mission trips. |
